I will let you know when I begin to work on it. I have to find time between this and the wifes Honey Doooooo list. Did you mention a rebuild kit for the distributor? Didn't see one at Zips or Ecklers. If not what parts do I really need?
The only "kit" for a distributor that I ever used was the advance kit Lars used to sell. It was an excellant kit that he put a good deal of thought into.
If you wnat to rebuild the the dist and take yor tiem then get a checvy non-tach drive one and run it in the car while you rebuild yours. They are usually in junk yards or swap meets for about $25.
I wouldn't buy anything until you have it all apart and chek everything on it. Then you can make up your list to see how much it will cost to rebuild and decide from there, sometimes a new dist is a better deal if yours needs everything.
Gary
I rebuilt mine about 8 years ago with a new shaft and new gears for the tach. I can't remember what it cost but I think it was around 150 by the time I was all done. I have had zero problems with it since the rebuild and the tach is smooth operating. I agree with Gary, take it apart before making any decision and see what it needs.
