for a 79 you will never get your money back out of it, if you plane to sell it later

I think cowling part is do-able and not uncommon. Just keep reposting until you get some answers as I recall this as an infrequent topic.

The only body man on this planet that will tackle the bird cage used to post on this forum under 69Myway . He was located in Florida too. Even if you can't contact him you can search his posts in our C3 archives.
Hope this helps. :seeya

:iagree: if you can't do the work yourself it will cost more than it's worth.

a bird cage is the main frame structure of the body... runs through and around the fire wall windshild post, the doors hang from it.

Tough to repair ... better to replace the rear half of the body with a good donor.
If it's only limited to the windshield frame (not too likely), then it can
probably be fixed without breaking the body apart too much.
If rot has also taken the pillars and rocker channels, labor costs are gonna
kill you. Definitely a DIY job to keep the cost reasonable.
I have lots of posts while fixing my WS frame and swapping rear clips.
Search in the archives, and you'll find plenty.

Can you say " PRO-STREET . It's that time. Back-half it, roll cage it, and let the fabricaters reinforce it while thier there. '79s don't have much value.
