Sidepipes on a 72
A friend of mine is looking at buying a 72 vette that has been setting in a climate controlled garage for 15 years. The car only has 42,000 miles. The car has sidepipes on it now. What was the last year for factory sidepipes?

Re: Sidepipes on a 72 (jlsru75)
the only year the C3 had side pipes was 69' and if I rememeber correctly
it was not even for the full production year of 69'.
The pipes are really nice sounding, but the noise will get to ya on road trips.
I recently removed mine and replaced with the factory under-car exhaust.
I can now listen to my radio and drive without having to wear ear plugs.

1969 was the only year they were offered as a factory option.
They were available from the dealer into the early 70's. If the dealer installed them when the car was new, then technically they could be considered "original".
