LT-1 or big block hood and it will fit, a small block flat hood, NO! The Brodix HVH 2 plane intake is the best hi-po intake for a flat hood. You can also shoot yourself in the foot like I have and put a TPI or Accel Super Ram under that hood, if your a glutton for punishment!
I will find out the answer to that question myself today! We were told it will fit using a bathtub (I think that's what it's called) air cleaner. I have a small block. I don't know what is meant by a "flat hood". My hood has a bit of a rise in the center....maybe 2 inches? Hoping it fits! If not, we'll just swap intakes with my 72 Monte Carlo. Pretty much the same set up, Holley 650 double pumper on both, but the intake isn't as tall in the Monte. If it won't fit in either car, one of the cars is going to get a different hood! lol
What works for a 73 will not work on 68-72's.. Completely different hoods. 68-72's have three different hoods. Stock small block, Big block (andLT-1) and L88 high rise. The LT-1 engine had a taller manifold and a Holley carb, thus the LT-1 hood. 73'&up have a slight High rise hood so... You can't compare.
