Default AIR system

I'm planning on getting my cats on tommorow and getting my car e-checked. Last e-check for this car for as long as i own it so i was thinking i would just get rid of all the emissions junk if it would help free up a little power. My question is can i disconnect the AIR system without any ill effects to the engine such as vacum or anything else, though i don't think it has any vacum hook-ups right? The cats are coming back off as soon as it gets back from e-check.

OT Blew motor in work truck and had to put in a reman. motor. I have never done anything that extensive so after i got the motor swapped and running i took it to a shop so they could make sure everything was working properly and they said everything looked good. Awesome!!

Sorry long post

You can unhook the AIR system without any ill effects.

You will free up about 1 or 2 HP.

The AIR system only uses the pump to pump air into the exhaust.

Hope this helps.
