I live about 10 miles from this car. I just called the owner and asked just a few questions. He said it was all together when he got it. Then he was going to restore it :smash: Now he just wants out of it  All parts are there he said. Bumpers need rechroming, seat need to be redone, no head rests, NO SIDE PIPE COVERS. I might take a ride over on Tues. Anyone want me to look for anything on it?
going for too much..... looks like he parted out the good stuff..... side pipe covers, hood, front bumper..... cost a easy 15k to restore.... be into it for 20k with shipping...for a 12k car

I keep reading that these cars are not worth much.. What's up with that? So it is a small block 69 convertible. Hey, I have one!! It is getting totally restored, body off and all that. Look at Mershons or ProTeam for their 69 small block convertibles. They are looking for 30 grand or more for a nice driver. Sure you may end up paying 15 - 20 grand for a restoration but you will end up with a car worth 25 - 30 grand if done right. So I think the price it is going for is ok. Nothing special but it does need a lot of work. If it has the original engine, decent body panels and most parts to complete and a good sense to know how to do a lot of the work yourself, then I think it would be worth it.
Now my 69 is not special in anyway but I sure wouldn't part with it for 13 grand.
Then again, my 65 327/350 convertible was nothing special before I sold it a couple months ago...

I find Proteam ask very strong prices for their cars, especially since thier matching number cars aren't "true" matching numbers. When I said "nothing special" I was referring to production numbers. The 1969 model year had the HIGHEST production numbers of any chrome bumper car built with nearly 40,000 units (38,762 to be exact). So a '69 is the least rare and with it being base engine makes it that much less of a rarity. I'm not ******* '69's but from a production number standpoint this particular is nothing special.

I agree, both proteam and Mershons try to get top dollar.... And you are correct, there is nothing special about a 69 corvette. But from an investment standpoint, they are the most valued in price for a comparable 68 - 72 corvette. The 1970 is worth close to the 69 but the others are definately lagging behind. Not sure what makes the 69 better than the others in term of value but I enjoy driving mine and the fun factor is priceless!! My 69 should be done in the next couple of weeks so I will be able to enjoy her once again!!!
