C3 HATCH......................
How common are 79s with opening rear windows?My brothers in-laws bought a new one back then and it had a rear hatch.I understand it was a dealer option.ASC was the company that produced all of the hardware for the window.I read somewhere that G.M.purchased the tooling from ASC for the 82 COLLECTOR and later sold the tooling to ECKLERS.Does any of this make sence to anyone?By the way,this 79 cost $20,000 when new.Thanks.

I have just done a few searches, and can't find hatch back window offered for the 79, That would be real :cool: I'm going to guess and say it was not a dealer option :cheers: Might be wrong.
