Horn relay buzzing ? Under the hood ?

Sure you're not referring to the seat belt buzzer (under dash) ?

for sure the horn relay on the driver's inner fender , I layed hands on it while it was sounding off. funny it didn't buzz today  , my other issue is anytime i hook up the battery (my new wiring harness is only about 90% hooked up) my emergency flasher are flashing, the switch on the column is depressed , which I remember is the off position. Isn't there some relay that controls the flashers , or possibly i haven't connected some ground that would stop this from happening.

Not sure on either issue.
I would suggest getting it all connected before trying to troubleshoot anything that seems weird.

It could be a bad relay, or it could be due to bad ground, etc.
It sounds like the relay engages, then suddenly disengages - over and over real fast.
I would bet on something needs connecting, rather than a bad relay.

Not sure exactly where the emergency flasher is located on your car, but it
should be either on/near the fuse panel or under the dash. I seem to recall
maybe under the passenger side dash. The flsher is a small metal can with
two terminals sticking out (about 1" around). It should be fairly easy to locate
when the flashers are blinking, as the 'can' will make little ticking sounds as
the switch opens/closes.

Keep us posted when you find more.

Your horn relay is also your key warning buzzer. It circuits through the drivers side door ajar switch. Maybe it didn't buzz today because your key wasn't in the ignition? Put the key in the ignition and see if it buzzes again.

Todbo, I believe on the column the flasher button is supposed to be out to be off. I don't have my vette at the house right now but I believe this to be correct. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this.

ya it was related to the key , because if i pulled on the key while in the on position it would move out a fraction and the horn relay would stop , but yesterday was the first and only time it's done that , but as someone suggested i need to finish this wiring project and see if the gremlins are still hanging around.

My horn relay, the "key buzzer" section, had never worked in the first four years I owned the car. Last fall, one day, it worked. Talk about annoying. It wouldn't go off even if the door was closed. On a '68 (and I expect most years close to that), it's on the driver's fender. I left the key in so it was buzzing like hell....then pulled the wire. Silence......it has been happily disconnected ever since! A bubba fix, but it'll do for a long time.....
