We lost a Corvette legend Friday when Jan Berry passed away at age 62.
Jan put the Corvette on the map with the songs Dead Mans Curve and other Vette songs. Jan owned a new Vette from 1959-1964. He loved the power style and image of the Corvette. He was a true Vette fanatic. I hope the forum gives him a proper tribute.
I didn't hear that he died; a local radio station was taking about Jan & Dean two days ago, but I didn't catch he died. The last time I was in Hollywood, I saw the real "Dead Man's Curve"; the spot where Jan lost control of his Corvette, which we know affected him for life. It was just a tight little curve in Beverly Hills, but the speed got him, and as we know he lost control.
Been a coupla threads on him................C-1 & C-2 and also C-3 forums-
I've always enjoyed the West Coast Sound in music, of which he was one of the pioneers-- even before the Beach Boys..........!
My brother and I collect surf and hot rod music, and Jan & Dean are one of our all time favorites.
Plus- he was a Vette guy too!
:yesnod: :chevy :chevy :yesnod:
he'll be greatly missed-
