Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Todbo)
When I bought my '82, it had a 'kill' switch up-under the dash-board.
I let a buddy drive it once; his Size 14 feet accidently turned it 'OFF', and we couldn't figure-out what'd happend

A few tenderonies had stopped-by as we 'diagnosed' the problem, so we tried to make it look REAL 'technical'.....

Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Todbo)
:nono: Thats to easy to locate. I think. Under the dash is good place. But, that is where most alarm shutoff's are located. I put mine right near the %#$%^&^&^%()_++_%$. Behind the @$&**$#%*(()&%#$#^&^&  Every person that gets into the car with you will see you stick your finger in the ashtray. NOT GOOD! :nonod: Install it wear I put mine. :seeya Steve
Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Brown78)
I would also say too obvious in the ash tray. Mine is pretty plain under the dash by the headlight switch, but mine uses a barrel key to activate it. Not that it's that difficult to start cutting wires under there, but it takes time to fiddle with it.
Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Buffalo Dude)
ok, I liked pillowmeto idea of modifing the cig lighter, but after seeing all the feedback about the ashtray i've decided to go with a pressure pad connected to a realy on the starter , hide it in your favorite place under the carpet , unless you put pressure on this pad "the car no start" :nono:
Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Todbo)
A Buddy of mine cut up a junkyard radio, using the front part as a dual-purpose delete plate that looks factory. Anyway used a wiper switch instead of the on/off/volume control and passed the ignition cutoff through it. Now it will only start when the "Radio" is on. The nice thing about that is that it only takes a bump to turn on the switch, so it can be done relatively unnoticed.
This was an alternative to an expensive delete plate and it looks factory.

Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Todbo)
If your factory alarm keyhole is in a good spot, wire it to the two terminals there; on a 1973, a thief would virtually have to remove the gas tank to get to the back of the switch. You can also interrupt a circuit to your electric fuel pump there, if you wish.
Re: how about hiding your kill switch here? (Todbo)
looks good, thats where mine is.
But i actually modified the existing cigarette lighter to work as the kill switch
MAtt
now that's an idea
i can push the cigarette lighter in and keep it that way, as if i were letting it get hot, incase i need to take it to valet, like thats ever going to happen, or take the lighter out and keep it in my pocket so its basically unstartable. Looking in the socket it looks normal, and looking at the lighter there are only a few small clues that give it away
If you didn't already know, you never would.
