Need some pulley advice before tomorrow. Please help.
Going to the Charlotte Auto Fair tomorrow and am wanting to buy my craank and water pump pulleys for my SB to BB conversion. I am running alt and ps only so how many grooves do I need for the crank pulley and how many for the water pump. I am thinking 2 for the crank and one for the WP is this correct?

I have a 2 groove crank and a 3 groove water pump. One belt from the crank-water pump-ps pump and one belt from the crank-water pump. One groove on the water pump is empty in case I want to hook up the AC. Finally the alt. is driven off the ps pump. Hope that helps.

2 groove crank to a 2 groove water pump. Inner grooves fit the crank to water pump. Outer, water pump to P.S. pump inner groove. Outer P.S. pump groove to Alt. Be aware, the shaft of a BB water pump is 3/4" in dia. You will need a pully to fit 2 groove & 3/4" shaft. [3rd groove on the pump might have been for an air pump]

I have a 2 grove lower crank pulley and a single grove water pump. ONe grove in the lower crank pulley runs the power steering and the other lower crank pulley runs the waterpump and alternator together

Thanks guys. i went to the show today and talked to one of the Hot Rod vendors and told him what I was doing. He recommended I go with either a 1 or 2 groove w\p pulley and a 3 grove crank pulley in case I ever decide to put the a\c back on. I went with the 3 groove crank and the 1 groove w\p. Both are Billet specialties. I paid $150 for both. A lot of money but DANG they look good!
