I've got a '71 with stock exhaust, and one of the tips keeps vibrating loose, no matter how much I tighten the little u-shaped yoke thing where it goes into the muffler. Any advice on keeping it in place? Loctite?
Please help!
Welding may be the way to go: even when I get the tip in, it rotates around in the pipe, and looks fowl-eyed. I'll try the split washers, and if that doesn't work, well, time for the torch!
Finally got it, guys: once I figured out the U-shaped clamp was nothing but a hanger (amazing what you figure out when you crawl under these things!), I lined up the little divot'n'groove arrangement in the pipes and tapped it in with a mallet: no problem now.
