Top strip is held in by clips on the windshield frame. The sides are held on by screws. You will have to dig into the weatherstrip to find them(3 on each side).

To remove the top winshield trim you will need a windshield clip tool. The tabs of the trim are clicked in between the two tabs of the clip. With the tool you can spread the outer tab of the clip to release the moulding. Take it slow and be careful. The trim can bend easily. Craig

You can just go by a windshield shop and ask them to take the trim off - that you have other work to do. Done that, it works.
But, one time when having the windshield replaced, they left the tool on the floor board. Have it now, and it works real easy when I took off the rear trim to repaint it.

You can get a windshield trim tool from Snap-On for 6 or 8 bucks. Be careful with the clips when you are taking the trim off. They get kind of rusty and some of them can't be replaced with the windshield in so you don't want to break them.
