Hugger Headers
I've gone back and forth on which headers to get, long tube or hugger. I've seen a lot of huggers advertised that they will fit a chevy small block, but not with angled plugs.....
"Small block chevy block hugger headers. These include gaskets, reducers, bolts for heads, & bolts for reducers. Reducers are 2 1/4 inches and the primaries are 1 1/2. These fit very tight to the block for maximum clearance. They come out from the block about 4 inches and drop straight down the center of the block about 9 inches. Excellent for tight fit applications. Fits 283-305-327-350-383-400 engines. They will not work with angled plugs.
Does anyone know if these will fit a 77 corvette? When I emailed a couple of places, some said yes, some said no.

If you have your stock heads, they are not angle plugs.
I really wouldn't bother adding shorties. They are no better than the ram's horns. You don't get any tuned exhaust effect in those tiny short tubes.
If you're really set on them, there is a guy who sells them on E-bay and says several of his sets have been installed on C3's. His are about $80.
