I didnt feel like doing an internet search for this and figured this would be easier. Can anyone give me info as to how to decode the date codes on corvette steel rims? I have several to figure out.
Thanks in advance...

Kelsey Hayes produced all rally wheels and each is stamped with the manufacturers logo, date code and size code located on either side of the valve stem hole. The typical stamp format reads from left to right:

K 1 8 3 HOLE 10 AZ

The “K” represents manufacturer Kelsey Hayes; the “1” represents the plant that produced the rim (Romulus, MI); “8” represents the year of manufacturer; “3” indicates the month of manufacture or March in this instance. On the other side of the valve stem hole the day of manufacture is stamped “10” and the “AZ” is the Corvette rally wheel 15x8” code. In 1968, this code reads AG. The example above indicates that this Corvette rally wheel was produced March 10, 1978. In 1980, Kelsey Hayes used a two-digit code for the year instead of the single digit. So, “9” was used in 1979 production while 80, 81 or 82 used for 1980-82 production.

Hope this helps
