Given that in 1969 (and 1970) the factory did not keep record of the amount of cars produced with particular paint colour in 1969. i have made this poll for those who have been around the Corvette hobby enough to know what is common and what IS NOT! So please, you knowledgeable Corvette nuts, vote for what seems the most rare. i have, and i'm sure many others have always wanted an indication on this.
Tuxedo black is the rarest color for 1969 and also for 68. Monza red was a very common color. The next rarest color would be monoco orange followed by burgandy

:iagree: .......I'm not sure about '69 but LeMans blue for '68 was pretty common as was Rally red. :yesnod:
Also, I've never seen a monaco orange '69 in person.....
Thanks for you help guys. You have just confirmed my thoughts exactly. The 69 model years is my favourite and always has been. For years i have been looking at these cars and have come to your same conclusions. Tuxedo Black, Burgandy and Monaco Orange, and it would then be followed by Riverside Gold or Fathom Green?! I use to just compare it to the 1968 colour count but i had this nagging suspecsion that though they are so close they may be different. For instance, the change in trends from 68 to 69 in coupe and convertible. And 69 to 70, how automatic cars began to be more 'wanted'. Its hard to be totally sure in this case.
Monaco Orange has always been my favourite colour.
My father some 4 years ago bought a 1969 L71 project car that had been sitting for 15 years. it was a Monaco Orange coupe. That same car back in the early 70's was street raced in LA and had some history pertaning to Grump Jenkins, though seeming to be original.
And just last September i locted my dream car, a 69 L71 coupe. And once the number cruching was done, it too was a Monaco Orange car. Though I LOVE this colour so much, it did seem a little weird.
Ode to the chrome bumper shape, and even more so to the Big Blocks cars that have made them so very special!
The most rare exterior/interior colour combination you could get in 1969 that was suggested by the factory was Tuxedo Black on Gunmetal. There are only 4 cars known to exist with this combination. And in five years i have only ever seen ONE! pretty incredible!
Black was the rarest? I find that hard to beleive. Orange and Burgundy, that I believe. My Vette was orig. Burgundy, does anyone have a good Burgundy picture?
What was the most popular, Red? I am a big fan of the Silver...
