Thought I would share this link, it's a quick and easy way to obtain some info on title history, mileage and dates. This link is to the OH DMV and you can search by VIN number so you can do a quick search even if you don't know if your car was ever registered in OH.
In my quest for a complete owner history I was able to track down the original owner of may car a couple of weeks ago. Was able to verify that the car spent most of it's life in OH. My VIN search at the site above came back with three listings that matched the stories of previous owners. Here is a link to my other post on the origianl owner story.
...when I inserted the link it puts an http in front of the https when you click on the URL. To view the site just delete the http// from in front of the https.
Only good if you are getting 1993 or later information. And even then it may not be there. My '95 Beretta is not there and I am the original owner. All older information is not available as they state on the web page. And unless the vehicle is coming in from out-of-state they don't normally check the mileage when you transfer the title.

Don't know what you did that I did different, I pulled up a complete history of the title for my 1982 Corvette. I ran the VIN first then each title number.
Just went back to the site and copied the following....
The title information available from this web page is obtained from Ohio county title offices. Title information may not exist in the system and on this web page for titles issued prior to March 1993, because all Ohio county offices were not automated until March 1993. The information contained on this web page reports only detailed information for titles issued in the State of Ohio.
...guess it depends on what county you are in as not all counties were automated. I got lucky!
