Exhaust upgrade for Stock L-48?? Please help me out.....
Posting this for a friend, He wants to do his exhaust.
He wants Headers, HighFlowCat, and 2 Stainless Steel Mufflers, but does not want true duals!! Wants to keep it stock looking. Is this a mistake?
I told him Hedman 1 5/8 with all the Air, Egr stuff, Coated etc......Good Header for his Car?
Please help me out! Not too familiar with C3 stuff...........

I was thinking of the Dynomax Stainless Steel Mufflers as well, made for 1980 Vette.......

Hi! I put true duals on my 80. I bought blackjack 1 5/8" headers. I put a crossmember from a 74 on. Then I ordered 2 1/2" true dual exhaust and mufflers from Ecklers for a 74. The point is, it looks stock. Hope this helps.

I would go w/ hooker headers instead of hedman if it's not a smog-app. Hedman uses smaller flanges.
I'm running what is basically a stock L-48, with true dual 2.5" exhaust, dual cats, and dual mufflers. My 0-60 with 2.25" true dual was 6.4 sec. 0-60 with the 2.5" true dual was 6.2 sec. What I'm saying is, any exhaust you can get helps. Plus, putting the best exhaust system behind the motor is the cheapest way to go if you're planning on hotrodding the motor at all.
Exhaust basically took my 'vette from 7.3 seconds to 60 down to 6.2. Imagine what the difference would be with a motor that actually NEEDS a lot of exhaust flow...
