Hello All I am new to the board. My 73 headlights are staying up. What would be the main problem? Also where are the fuses for the taillights and windshield wipers? Any suggestions on where to buy the top rubber weather stripping for a coupe? Thanks and sorry for so many questions.
The headlights movement is vacuum controled. Check for cracks/loose hoses up in the front between them. There is 4 hoses attached to a mian valve. There is a nother hose that attaches to the round bumper beam on the drivers side in front of the radiator. Put a vacuum gage on one of the lines that attaches to the actuator can to see if there is any vacuum there when turn the lights off, may be a leak in one.
Fuse box is mounted up under the dash above drivers left foot. It is a pain to see which fuses is for what but there are marked.
You can get any seals from the supporting venders listed at the left of the screen.
Welcome to the forum. I just bought my weatherstrip from the last detail for 210 for the whole kit.http://www.tld-corvette.com/
The fuse for the tailights (atleast on my 79) was a 20 amp just above the flasher towards the upper right of the fuse panel under the dash. not sure about the headlights. haven't had any trouble with mine yet. Love to see some pics of your car :hurray:
Joey - Welcome to the board. There could be a simple solution to your headlights. Under the steering wheel there is a toggle switch to bypass the vaccum for the headlights. If it is pulled down, your headlights will not close. Make sure it is pushe all the way in. The toggle is used so you can do maintenance on the lights with the vaccum system disengaged.
