Stupid Question about C3 stalling after long drive.
I have a 1982 cross-fire and use it as a daily driver. I only live about 5 miles from work and it runs fine. Every once in a while after I take a really long drive, the following day it will not turn over. The lights will come on, radio comes on, but nothing happens when I turn the key. I let the car sit for a day and when I turn the key, no problem starting up. Have no clue what it might be? Anyone have the same thing happen to them? Thank god I have another car. :nonod:

Nothing actually is turning over, although the lights inside come on, nothing is clicking or anything, no sound what so ever. I will try and check the horn and the alarm tomorrow. It seems really weird. I will try your suggestions tomorrow, although I believe it will turn over tomorrow morning, seems to work the next day.

Could be the ignition itself or the starter. Check to see if there's voltage going into the starter solenoid when the key is in the cranking position and starter does not work. If there is, replace the starter.

I have an '82 honestly I think they are the biggest pieces that Chevrolet made, the cross fire? Anyone else think this was the worst engineering ever to come out of the factory? Anyway this was a solution to my problem! http://www.painlesswiring.com/catalogframe.htm
