engine will not run in drive
with the weather so good, got the vette out of the storage and took her for a run, no problems! then changed the plugs and fuel filter and now the vette will not run in drive. at idle the engine holds 900 rpm no problem, but as soon as i put her in drive, she dies. fuel filter is installed right and the plugs are the r44 type. why only in drive does the 350 engine die! thanks......

You must have inadvertantly disconnected a vacuum line. first check the one that runs to the Transmission. Then check the Carburetor lines. Also be aware of any cracks or tears that may be in the lines, a line could have torn just enough to allow the vacuum to escape.

mine does the same thing and I just checked my vacuum lines...the car ran fine a few months ago when i had her out....i do have my tranny vac line on a "T" with my vacuum advance..

is your vaccuum tied into ported vaccum or full time, if you send full time vaccum to the dist. it will advance it too far at idle and could cause it to die like that.
