Remove the door panel of the DRIVER'S door. Now study the lock mechanism to see how the lock works. Fashion a wire (heavy duty coat hanger) with a small hook and practice "opening" the driver's side lock by going down through the window opening on the door.
With the knowledge gained, you can now open the passenger's side door. Worked for me.
Changing parts in the door can be a PITA, my door handles were worn and had to be replaced. It helps if you can get someone with small hands (wife/girlfriend/etc) to remove clips or start nuts on bolts.

:withstupid: mine did the same thing. just take it apart until you find something wrong. mine had a bind in the linkage. oh, and take it from me its not good when you go on a date and cant get the door open. :D
Does anyone have a picture they could email me b/c I have messed with my drivers side door that has been getting stuck in lock for a while with no fix yet but I think my problem may be in a spring that is in the door so i need pics to see if that is my problem
I farted around with mine for 2 weeks til I took it to a locksmith, It will cost you 80 to 100 beans, but just tell them you have a case of "Corvette Door". If they are competent, they will know what the problem is and the remedy. I hate to spend money on shizitt that I should be able to fix myself, but some things can be messed up more by Bubba with a coat hanger trying to figure out how something works.
Hey Outrunm, thats what im going to do, i played with it tonight, and just gave up, just gonna bring it somewhere and have them do it. Itll cost money, but save me frustration :smash:
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Re: Door stuck in lock (Pettee17)
Mine is still locked I also have a plastic insert that protects the locking mechanism from coat hangers, slim jims etc.
I figure I have to take off the door panel, only problem here is you can't get at one of the screws in the top corner so I think you have to take the trim off that goes up to the t-tops and across. Haven't got around to it yet. :D
I wrote an article for NCRS Corvette Restore that was published with photos a few years back. It's tedious work but can be accomplished with patience... My procedure was to use a large blade screw driver and "trip" the secondary latch through the window opening and pushing the black plastic protector aside. The reference above suggests the basic procedure.
If I HAD A CORVETTE FORUM WEBSITE PAGE...I COULD POST PHoTOS. But since joining such a service has failed to come forth so those who may benefit from such posting...are unable to!
Hey everyone, I got it fixed today. Had to go in through the top of the door and open it with a screwdriver, and then pulled off the door panel once it was open. To make my life easy, i just put the door in unlock, and pulled all the rods out, so it wont lock. The top wont ever be up, so i see no reason to lock the door again anyway.
The mecahnisms really isn't that hard to deal with once you take off the door panel. More than likely one of the rods just needs its length adjust. All of the rods can be turned (they are threaded) to adjust the length whihc affects the mechanism. It's pretty basic.
