I've been having problem getting a seal on windows when we close the doors.. We've tried everything and now the Body Shop says its the pressure relief vent... But, where is it on a C-3 ?? On my other cars the vent is in the
support colunm. :nonod: :bs
Re: Where's the pressure relief vent ????? (allstarcmdr)
What year do you have? My 71 has Astro Ventilation and the rear vent door stays open all the time unless I turn on the heat so I guess there is no pressure relief valve.
On a side note, a friend and I went looking at new Vetts today at lunch and the Chevy dealer had a new SSR in the showroom. I opened the passenger side door and the window went down about a 1/4 inch by itself. When I closed the door the window went back up by itself. I asked the sales person and she said that it does that to get a good window seal.......very
Re: Where's the pressure relief vent ????? (allstarcmdr)
WTF ? :bs
I believe the only pressure release vent is in that guy's head ! :jester
What he's probably talking about is the vent at the end of the door towards the bottom (part of the Astro-ventilation ?).....anyhow I don't think that's your problem. :smash:
Is this a coupe or convertible ? ......I'm thinking it's a coupe because the 'verts aren't very airtight.
In that case, something is wrong with the weatherstrip seal aligning with the window glass edge.
Re: Where's the pressure relief vent ????? (allstarcmdr)
It's a ' 77 Coupe..
Okay.....first check the weatherstripping to see if it's installed correctly and matches up with the glass.
Also check to see how far 'up' the window glass goes. It could be that you just need to roll it up 99% and leave that 1/4 to 1/2" for the rubber to seal. What all was done / replaced at the body shop ?
It's possible that they had your door apart and didn't get the glass back in to 'factory specs'..... :nonod:

Re: Where's the pressure relief vent ????? (verskel)
We replaced the Rubber on the doors, and T-tops.. Then adjusted windows..
When Driver door is closed , Pass. dr. window doesn't seal.. BUT, with Driver
door open or window down , the Pass. dr. seals... That's why they wondered where the Pressure Relief Vent was!!! They figure it could be clogged or shut..
But have no idea where vent is...
