Re: Lift off (stpman)
Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Make sure to keep us posted on the progress you are making. It is good to see people taking on these kinds of projects and watching them to the end.

no plans to repair that frame, in fact it went back into the garage intwo sections. cut at the kick ups at the back and just in front of the #1 body mount. The only part salvagable from section in the middle was the Trans Xmember.

Re: Lift off (NHvette)
Dave the frame was cut in three sections, you can see the front and rear section in picture Frame_6. It actually only took about 5 minutes to cut the back off and another 5 for the front. when we looked at how bad it actually was I deceided to use tyhe frame frome my 74 parts car instead (way too much rot on the 73)
Wow, after viewing those photos, I hope I don't have nightmares tonight! I probed a hole in my '94 Escort wagon's rocker panel, upon closer examination the metal was all rotted, inside the rocker channels was at least 15 pounds of salt and sand!!!!!!!! Rust sucks, or at least road salt does! :nopity :U

Not sure what was holding it together, when I was cutting on one side of the fraame rust was falling of the other side. No I didn't drive it I bought it knowing it had a bad frame.

The rockers are bad and will be replaced, will be travelling through your area next month and stopping to pick up the parts I need.
The plan is to put this car together using the frame from a 74 I have
Nice pictures, good luck with the resto. I'm sure it will come out great.
How high was the hoist boom and di you have any issues removing the body using it?
Thanks,
Gary
I just did the same thing this past winter. I went from a relly bad 73 frame to a 76 frame and replaced the rocker channels. Take your time and mark everything you take off. I had mine aligned on thursday and it rides like a new car now. Good Luck John
