okay i will be hopefully working on this, this weekend. how much do you suggest I cut at a time of my front coils? also what about the rear bolts... SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!
Don't know what springs you have or how much you want to lower your car, but I cut my 550's over the weekend. I only cut a half coil out of each spring, but it lowered the car about an inch or a little more.
For the rears you either need longer bolts or nylock nuts (so that the nut can be loosened on the bolt without having to use a cotter pin to hold it in place).
1 full coil off the front of my car dropped it a little over 1.5"
The problem with cutting coils is that you first cut off inactive spring. so you start by making little or no gain at all. Then you get frustrated and say "Heck, I'll cut off another 1/2 coil" and it turns out to be too much. Doh!
I'd start with 1/2 coil if you want to go 1" or less and work up in no more than 1/4 coil increments.

Don't want to highjack the thread, but what about cutting a 460# spring? How much drop do you think one would achieve by cutting 1/2 coil?
Who know for sure. Every car is different, but I'd say between 0.75 - 1in. Depends. My drivers side needed only 1/2 coil to equal the passenger???  The 3/4 coil I cut lowered that side 1 inch.
i just cut 3/4 off my coils and it dropped me almost an inch and a half. Kinda scared me at first because of how low it sat after i loosened the control arm bolts and retightened. It dropped more then i planned but looks good.
