I see an ad for the "new" tremec 5 speed in super chevy. It says offset shifters available and 8 shifter locations to fit your console.
Does this mean that you won't need the Keisler kit? Will it now fit without cutting up the car?
From what I have heard Tremec is getting in on some of Keislers business and doing the mods at the factory. I don't know if it is being done for the Vette yet but I am sure it is just a matter of time before they start doing this when they are built. I did not have to cut up the car but I do have the Keisler kit in mine.
I have been waiting for the same information and been clicking on every post that has anything to do with any 5 speed conversion. I do hope to hear some positive reviews in the near future for the new 5 speed boxes for our applications.
I asked this same question a few weeks ago and got very few responses. I'm guessing that it will be an alternative to the Keisler kit but not sure. Hopefully someone will be the guinea pig and let us all know.

My brother in law is getting the TKO 600 for his Camaro. It has been modified by Tremec for the Camaro. Not as many mods for the Camaro as the Vette but I am going down in about 3 weeks to help with the install. Also putting in a Moser rear with disc brakes. Going to see now what it is like to hook up 600+ HP in this car. Should be fun.
Hey guys- Saw this post and thought I could offer some future help....
I am in the process of putting a standard temec 3550 (forte) in my 66 vette. I did not go with the Keisler kit because I had the tremec already and I wanted to re-use it after I sold my Camaro. I took the shifter off, cut it where the shifter handle bolts on and welded a piece of steel that moves it 2" to the left. I will let you know how it fits when I test fit it in a week or so. I know the shifter is over to the left far enough now, but I haven't determined if I was able to make it low enough for tunnel clearance. As far as I see it, that's the only real big advantage to the Keisler is that they maching the case a bit to lower the shifter for clearance.
By the way- I have never really lurked around in the C3 forum, but I really like it- you guys are really doing some cool stuff.....

The shifter on the new trans is not relocated it is merly a prebent arm that moves the shifter arm to teh correct location in the console. As such you will still need to cut the floor pan for installtion of this trans.
This comment is based on a picture I saw.. I have been unable to find it again alas.
