TH400 electric kickdown switch?
Help me out here please.
I know I've seen these a bazillion times, but I can't seem to find one listed in any catalog now that I need one. The trans. in my '73 was rebuilt by the P.O., but he left the electric kickdown switch out of the game plan (Mounts near the carburetor linkage). I'd like to get it back in, but I can't find the universal part in any of my catalogs on hand.

I too thought they would be an easy part to find, but after searching through 3 major catalogs and their websites I don't see one either. I think we're talking about the same switch........mounts up under the dash at the accelerator pedal rod. Like the above reply......try checking the GM parts house or a good transmission shop. Let us know what you find .....I'd be interested to know. Good luck.

That is why you can't find what you are looking for. It is a switch mounted under the accelorator that triggers it on the TH400

On '73-'75 it does both! The carb "switch" by carb he is referring to is probably the idle stop solenoid. Nothing to do with trans.! Is your car not downshifting on WOT? :eek:
