Default Coolant in my block?

Well Its my first time taking apart my engine but the further down I go the more problems I find. I just removed my heads today and when I pulled out the bolts for the heads, coolant came pooring out  also when i removed the heads there was coolant covering my pistons and in every hole in my block... the gaskets "seemed" :( allright so I have no idea why this happened or what I need to do to fix it...... budget is limited so I'll be doing all the work myself. HELP?!

Everything you have observed is normal. The only way you will not see coolant when you pull the heads is if you remove the freeze plugs or the pipe plug near the bottom of the block. The coolant leaked into the cylinder when you loosened the head. To avoid this (or minimize it) you should pull the rearmost head bolt first and let the excess coolant drain.

you did not have all the coolant drained out of the block, why are you tearing the motor apart in the first place

I've never pulled a motor apart before.... so.... I didn't know.... its how you learn through things like this. I know now not to make that mistake again. Which bolt is it that I have to pull to finish draining it?

There are two 3/8" pipe plugs on either side of the block that you pull to drain the waterjacket. Its a common mistake, nothing to worry about, just get it cleaned up and coat the cylinders with some WD-40.

Good Luck, and have FUN
