Default Clutch help needed

I have a 454 manual built in April 1972. I was going to order a new clutch and carry on using the car while I await delivery. However when I look at the listings for my car it would seem different diameters and splines were used. Does anyone know for certain which one I will need or do I have to take the car off the road and remove the old one first ?. I am in the UK so shipping would take a couple of weeks.

Many thanks.

I would open it up to check cause I had the same problem... ordered a clutch from centerline, took the size and splines on their website according to my year and engine and ended up with the wrong clutch. Had to return to get the right size.

If the trans is original it should be a 26 spline. Not sure if it is 11 inch or 10.4. If someone has been in there before you don't know what could be lurking inside.
