Airgap really worth it?
Does the airgap really help? or is it primarily marketing?
and the RPM has a 1500-6500rpm range. Does it suck to drive with the engine under 1500 rpm? part throttle response?

The air-gap will show a slight power increase over the RPM intake. The airgap also has more plenum divider removed than the RPM intake. The real question is is it worth the extra $100 or more over what a RPMtrades for, the last RPM i bought new/used, I paid $90 for. I am happy with the RPM for that kind of money, I can install a $16 lifter valley baffle and have about the same performance as an air-gap intake. I also just picked up a Big Block rectangular port RPM intake for $100 from a guy going to a Dart intake (I think he is making a BIG mistake but, he is 23 years old and knows it all already!)

RPM Air Gap is probably the best dual plane on the market right now and it looks pretty cool too. You can drive it around at any RPM and part throttle response it as good as it gets :D
