I'm going to use an Edelbrock Air Gap intake on the engine I am building. I have a 4" L88 hood so clearance shouldn't be an issue.
Cross Wind brand sells an Air Gap for much less than Edelbrock. Does anyone out there know if there is a difference in quality or performance between the two brand names? Or are you just paying for the Edelbrock name?
Thanks
JZ
I bought one of the Power+Plus "RPM AIR GAP" copy intakes (polished) and one of the Victor JR style plain cast. They are of good basic quality, the casting on the none polsihed was only "OK", but the polsihed one was pretty good, polishing could have been better ,it only took me a couple of hours with a wheel to get it how I liked.
I now run a Weiand Team G and you do see the difference in the casting quality between the US brands (Edelbrock, Weiand, Holley) and the Chinese manufactured Power+Plus.
You can see a Power Plus in my sig pic. I'm pleased with it. I've had no problems with leaking or failure to seal against the heads. Also, my polish was pretty good. What you see in the pic is out of the box polish.
