Default I messed up big time

I was trying to install the retainer clips for the small stainless trim at the top of the windshield , (the end clips on both sides were not holding the trim down) anyways these clips are probably installed before the windshield is installed ,well I cracked my windshield :banghead: top corner , crap! i'm hoping a glass company can use some epoxy and fix it.

I just did the same. I managed to leave the window in during my entire restoration against the advice of friends who suggested I take it out. I knicked the edge of the glass backing out that same clip you mention. I didn't think anything of it until I noticed a crack in the window that started right where I knicked it.

check out http://www.windshields.net

This website does a search in your area to find who will sell at the lowest price.

I was able to find a replacement at a much more reasonable price this way than by calling around cold. Saved myself about $40.

When I had a new windshield installed on my 68 firebird ($150), they told me the clips go in before the windshield or risk chipping/cracking it. Joe

Where did you get the retainer clips? I need them both to go on the molding and the pieces that go into the windshield frame above the glass.
