dealers in NJ want $25 for one. I checked Ecklers & they have one with the GM logo and P/N stamped on the hose for $15. Are these OEM as well or are they diff. than the ones the dealers sell?
Re: Help: Upper Radiator Hose for '79? (Corvette ED)
I just bought new upper and lower from my local Chevy dealer. The lower hose is a tight fit and I want the correct fit.
I also bought all new GM belts with the correct part numbers on them. I am restoring my engine area and wanted everything to be original looking.
Ed, one thing to keep in mind, especially depends on if your car is going to be judged or non judged, but what you get from a GM dealer today is "what will work" on your car compared to "what your car really came with". In other words, the belts and hoses you buy from them will be "functional", but are not the same as what came on your car "originally"(texture, fit, lettering, material, etc).
I just bought a lower hose for my 79. Was forced to go to the dealer and spend 30 bucks as the Napa and other parts dealers didn't carry the correct hose. They all had one that fit however it was minus the spring. So much for saving a few bucks.
