Re: Tall People In C3's (hubes)
I'm 6' and fit well in my '77.
However, my 2003 Pontiac Grand Am has six way power leather seats and I cannot find the sweet spot with all that adjustment. Either my back gets in a bind or my knees hurt, so I frequently change the seat settings. When the power seat first breaks, I hope it's still in warranty.

Now, seeing me get out of it with the top up is probably a little like watching a very large baby being birthed. Nothing 'elegant' about it!

I'm 6'3" with a bad back, and I was surprised at how comfortable my C3 is. Even with the nonadjustable steering column. With the tops on it feels a little close, but its more like a good fit than cramped.

Im 6'4. Its hard to get in, but once Im there, its ok. Long trips are painful. I really want a tilt tele, but those are hard to find. It would definitely make a difference.

I'm 6'2 also and fit pretty good! Kinda hard to fit a helmet on though.

I'm 6' 3" and I never used to have a problem, but then I had the seats redone and new foam put in. Now I have to ride with the tops off or my head rubs on the tops.

I'm 6'4" and I fit better in the Corvette than my '86 Crown Victoria. I also don't use the tilt to get in and out, so that says something about my youth. If you have glass t-tops you have a little bit more headroom.

Re: Tall People In C3's (hubes)
This is a common problem (I'm 6'2"), and it has much to do with the design of the cockpit on many cars of this vintage (late '50's to mid '70's). The wheel was generally too large and right in your chest, largely due to heavy non-power steering, especially in race cars with big heavy tires. Also, the pedals are too far back and badly positioned for good leg extension and foot work.
On both my Mustang and the 'vette, my knees are up and almost touching the wheel, my arms bent and I have to hand-over-hand on any real tight turns, and heel-and-toe driving is close to impossible. On the Mustang I am able to move the seat track back 3 inches and I have a 13" flat steering wheel that I'm going to try and it should solve my problems on that car.
The Corvette does not have any room to back up the seat any farther and it is already as upright as it will go and resting against the hatch. My feeling is that I will need a smaller, flat steering wheel and probably a custom (shorter) column for a perfect fit.
Head room hasn't been an issue, but I'm sure it's because it's a convertible and there is less structure above my head. It does, however, get VERY hot up there with no insulation and a black top! :yesnod:
The 5'8" crowd (my wife is 5'4" and fits great!) definitely has an advantage in this situation... Ironically, the Corvair pedals and seat position are perfect. All I did was replace the wheel and it rocks!

Re: Tall People In C3's (tersian)
I can stretch out just fine, lots of legroom.
The headroom is a bit tight, but I can't afford to go any higher.
I have spent may hours under my Vette and have a nicely padded creeper. Very Comfy.
Oh wait, you mean inside the car???

Re: Tall People In C3's (hubes)
I am 6'3" I move the seat all the way back and everything is great. I did put some spacers under the front seat brackett to give me some additional thigh support which really helped.

HEHE427V8, I live in FLORIDA where the concrete never goes below 60f, unlike you who never sees it above 32F......
so therefore I just lie on a rug, which is very comfy.....
