1971 Muncie M21 question
Hello all
I just Bought a 71 this weekend and all was well.... today i was coming home from work and i couldn't shift into 2nd but 3rd and 4th were fine:confused:. so i spoke with a few people and they said to make sure it had full trans fluid. so i checked it and yes it did need it...well i filled it up and was going to drive around the neighborhood to see if it were any better, but now i can't even shift out of reverse it is just stuck there. any ideas as to whats going on i would like to drive it.

Your gear oil would have had nothing to do with shifting, but its good that you checked it out anyhow. Muncies tend to give shifting problems when the shift linkages are out of adjustment, worn, or not properly lubricated. I have never had to touch mine other than change the gear oil, but if you do a search I am sure you will find lots of info.

yea yea :crazy: i can't spell, what else is new. i will check the likage tomorow to see if that is the problem i have a feeling it is. thanks for the info guys.
