Found this site:
http://www.mandrelbending-tubefabric...ccessories.pdf

Scroll to "stacks"....they come in 304 polishable SS as well

For all you nifty fellows like Norvalwilhelm, who can weld your own systems scroll down to the "Goody Box"

You can make a whole system if you're handy!! :smiliedrool:

Scroll down to "304 SS tubing" on the previous mentioned site.
What is the difference between 304 and 316 ss?

Our pipes are 45" each in length.

Called this fellow above (Joe).
2X45" =90" which is 7,5ft.

7.5ft lenghts of 304 Stainles Steel with ID 4"(part#44STP30475) can be bought for less than C$200-00!!

He could not tell me the exact price as it apparently changes on a daily basis with the price of steel. I will call back in two hours at his request for a correct price.

That price is the price if you own a business. Private party is a bit more expensive.

I'll get back later with exact prices!! :chevy

316 SS is more corrosion resistant and a little harder than 304 SS

Now I have a question!

I have a friend who owns a pipe bender....

Can I shove either a 7,5 ft length of 304SS or 316SS in there, give it a little
twist to create the bend at the end without breaking it and then cut it in half?
So I have my two 45" ss pipes with the little twist at the end?

Will 316SS break too easy? Then 304SS will be better?

I'm getting more excited with every new bit of info......frig Hooker and their nastyness .....I'll make my own SS side pipes :chevy

.....and we'll show one another on the forum another way out in the process

If the spiral baffles dont fit, these might,i just modified these for my side pipes and i love the way they sound.
i welded 3 of them together and capped the ends off made 2 brackets to mount them to the tubes with a bolt.I got about 100 bucks into them.Ill get a video clip sometime this week when i get my memory stick back from my friend for my camera.

Man, there's HD Truck parts sources all over the country! 4" diameter curved stacks are a very common diameter on older Mack trucks & are available in chrome or aluminized steel. Also available in cold rolled steel from some suppliers. You can go to any truck dealer or truck parts store & find these stacks. As someone already mentioned though, if you are going to weld brackets or cut to length, you won't be able to start with chrome. They are available in OD diameter all the way, or OD with the inlet end expanded & slotted. All the 3.5", 4", & 5" diameter tubes that are expanded to ID in the truck industry, are slotted.

There are 11 players in the aftermarket HD exhaust world here in the US. My employer is one of them: http://www.grpipes.com. We have stacks up the wazoo & are known for having the best chrome in the industry. Curved stacks are available in the following standard lengths: 12", 18", 24", 36", 48", 60". Longer are available, but unless you're running a class 8 tractor, you won't need them. Go see your local Freightliner, Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt, etc. dealer & ask to see their exhaust catalog.
