Friend sold his '92 C4 and bought a used '98 C5 6 speed. He brought it by today and let me drive it, first C5 I've driven. Pretty car, black with gray interior. Climbed in and it was very comfortable, everything falls into hand. On the highway, was pretty quiet for the exception of tire noise from the big Eagle F1's. No rattles or squeeks which is pretty good considering it had 41K on it. Punched it and she pulled pretty good, real torquey motor. Let off the gas in 6th gear and it just coasts. Let off the gas in my C3 and she noses over. Cornering was very impressive and flat. Overall an impressive car and as it should be as it's 2 generations newer than the C3. Looking forward to mixing it up with him on the way to this years Funfest. :D Charles
And you would think that they are too high tech for us older guys to work on, but they aren't. My son has an 03 and we have done a lot of bolt on mods and all have been quite easy with good results. But I still miss my high C3 fender bulges when driving his. Hershey :chevy
Yea, I enjoy not seeing anything out of my side view mirrors except for big bulges of fiberglass. I think sideview mirrors on Vettes were just for looks... ;) I agree though, when I'm driving it, I often look at the big fenders and think man, this is a sexy car!
