Gel Coat or Not?
I have sanded my 74 down to the fiberglass. The original primer was 30 years old and the car has been painted twice over the past 30 years. The last paint job crazed after 4 years and sand scrates came through as well. So I decided to go all the way down to the fiberglass. I have heard a couple of people say that with today's Epoxy Primer/Sealers, there is no need to Gel Coat any more. I'm thinking about spraying a Gel Coat and then doing an Epoxy Primer. What do you think? A waste of time or a good idea.

C3's did not ever have gelcoat on them. There are some guys around here that really know Corvette painting tricks. I think Lar's has even written a couple of papers on the subject. Check over at http://www.corvettefaq.com
