chromeplating/jetcoating master cylinder
can't deceided if i should sterling jet coat or chrome my 73's master cylinder but the question is how do i remove the innerds to get it ready for the process?----carl

shamby,, my son said that theres a internal circlip holding a rubber plunger in there that pushes the brake fluid,, so i guess its a matter of removing the clip and sliding the rubber plunger out,, but dont coat the inside of the cylinder or it will leak,,,its honed...im gonna give it a try,,,,carl

You may want to check the cost of buying a chrome master cylinder vs. having yours chromed. Check Ecklers, Summit, JEGS, etc. for pricing.

I bought one that was already plated. It was one of the easiest things I have done. Don't remember the exact cost, but was well below $200. See Pic!
Plating takes time; usually weeks and there can sometime be disappointments.

tuffstuff makes them for powerbrakes, but they can also be used on manual brakes...might have to do some modifications to the rod, but nothing major.
