Dodge Ram SRT-10 Vs. Chevys wat?
Is GM gunna come out with a truck that can compete against this beastly pick up, like a Silverado, with a Z06 engine in it...let me know what u think
For the price of that Dodge truck you could have 2 SRT-4's that go just as fast as that truck. It's not practical whatsoever. Even with the big 20 inch wheels and the performance suspension it still handles like a truck. But hey, what hot rod out there IS practical? Keep the horsepower wars going.
I like GM's approach better. Keep refining technology rather that stuff the biggest engine you can make in everything you make.

I do believe chevy makes the Sivlerado SS which is a nice lookin truck. an im not a fan of the SSR, i think for the price of it, i'd rather buy a vette. but i do like the Colorado, i figured a turbocharged V-8 or something like that..hell put a v-10 in a trailblazer

The lighting is going to have 500 HP in 2005.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I'm a Chevy guy
and would but a Silverado in a heartbeat over the other two. The Dodge may be faster and the Ford may be quieter but those are not two attributes I look for in a truck when I buy one. Remember when truck were for hauling stuff, not parading around like some fancy boy.

Also, as stated the Dodge runs mid-13s stock. "01-04 Lightnings run that stock. They don't quite run the trap speed the SRT does, but they are efficient in a short drag race b/c of a good trans/TQ converter combo helps them off the line.
As has been stated, the new Lightning will make over 500hp, but it will _also_ be 800lbs heavier than the current model.
I expect it to maybe hit 12.9s in the 1/4 mile.GM should _not_ put the LS6 motor in the SS. While an excellent engine (I have one, see sig), it makes its peak TQ too high in the rev-range... not good for a 5000lb vehicle. You could make up for this with a good auto trans and some more rear gear, but I think you'd need to have more bottom-end TQ to get a heavy truck off the line efficiently.
I don't know what GM hi-po V8 would be best to put in a full-size, hot-rod truck, but I'd like to see them come up with a plan. They WOULD sell, I know that for sure.
Also, Dodge is coming out with an SRT-8 in '05. This will be a 425hp Hemi motor for the Chrysler 300C/Dodge Magnum. Pretty cool concept.
