Been looking for a new antenna mast. I managed to lose mine at the Cruise In. Stupid me left it on the rear deck instead of putting it inside when I covered the car. Drove off and lost the thing.
Anyhow, looking on ebay I see one with a starting bid of $9. Hey, that seems reasonable. Then I look at Paragon (I live 1/2 hour from there, so I can save on shipping by picking it up). Their price? $8.

Same thing with a camera I'm looking at. Canon A80. They're selling for $320+ on ebay when you can find them all over online for under $280. People are

I had to remove it to put the cover on. Normally I put it inside, but I had already locked the doors, so I figured it'd be fine up against the rear window. I was wrong.

Must be the stupid in me but is there any reason that you can't go to Autozone or NAPA and get a replacement mst or is there something different with the fitting? 
As for Ebay, most of the time, it's nothing more than a "keeping up with the Jones" mentality. It makes no sense to me...

Well, I could go to a local place and buy a replacement mast, which would probably cost ~$8, or get a proper one for the same price. I doubt that a replacement one would look right.
