Crossed Flags History
Here is a couple of pics of the history of the crossed flags that have been placed on the nose of our vettes. Originally the design had the American Flag on it but was quickly removed. Check out the story. I took the pics while I was at the Corvette Forum Cruise In at the Corvette Museum while in BG. Pretty neat story.

Chevy has regularly changed the Corvette emblems & wanted to change the new car so that it could be identified as new at the time. This is the primary reason. Flag colors reversed (possibly even by mistake) for example in 56, 65, 75-76 & 82. Also the no. of black & white has changed 80-81 for example.
C4 was obviously new & a new more modern emblem had been ordered.
In C3 emblems have come up several times w/ some looking for a meaning that is just not there. Chevy wanted to change the new car so that it could be identified as new at the time.
