Driver side window operation has been erratic lately. Today, there was a loud pop, and now the window will not go all the way up. I have the panel off and the cover plate off, and I notice that the motor moves quite a bit when in operation.
Is this normal? Is there a bracket that I cannot see that has broken and is causing the motor to flex, and therefore jamming the window before it raises all the way to the top?
The Haynes manual is pitiful in pictures and explanations. The assembly manual is a little better. The Haynes manual talks about drilling out rivets to remove the regulator, but I am having trouble seeing where these rivets are.
I may have answered part of my own question. After studying the assembly manual, I went back out an looked for where the rivets should be. I could only find one, and laying on the ground looked like the head of one of the others. It is silver in color and measures about 1/2 across.
Maybe the "pop" I heard earlier today was the rivet breaking.
Perhaps all I need to do is put bolts back in as if I had taken the regulator out.
