Carter AFB numbers help

Carter AFB numbers help
I am trying to figure out what carb I have on my 68. Its marked Carter AFB and has the following numbers on it:
ON THE TOP DRIVERS SIDE
6-2770
3
ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE
4H4-9635S
ON THE SIDE PASSANGER SIDE
02916
X
This looks like all the numbers on it, but none of those match up to any book I have so I have no idea what this carb is.
Also I am thinking of swithing out to a Edelbrock 600cfm. The car has the correct 327/300 four speed. What do you all think?

I also have a carter AFB on my 71 SB. It was on there when I got it, and it's on the long list of things to change
I didn't have much luck gathering info when I searched a few months ago.

Also I believe the Edelbrock performer is just a re-manufactured Carter, so I found the owners manual which includes theory of operation and tuning guide etc online at http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/index.html
They look like a pretty good carb for everyday driving, but it seems to be the general opinion on this forum that a vac sec carb can't compete with man sec double pumper, and I would have to agree. So I will be changing to a Demon in the not to distant future.
