I can think of several engines I could buy/build for $21,700
I'm a noob, whats different/special about this? It's a dual carb setup I see but is it just a rare setup they had?
Bry
It is vary vary rare setup.
so what it's a rare setup. doesn't mean it's a good set up. probably pretty good back in the day, but unless you plan on mounting on the coffee table as a conversation piece, what the hell good is it? build the exact same motor from the manifold down and you could put a FI setup on it for under $2k that will smoke that.
now where is that j@(k#ff smilie?
I saw one if not exactly, VERY similar, at a speed shop in California, and while I was there getting a crank turned I asked how much he wanted for it, and he laughed and told me I couldn't afford it. I guess he was right. He never did say how much.

If I'm not mistaken this set-up was an option only available on the original (1969) Z28 Camaro with the 302 engine. I'm not sure how many Z28's were made, but not all of them had this cross ram manifold.
This raises an interesting question; why would anyone buy this at this price unless he already owned a Z28 that was originally equiped with the cross ram, and if so, what is the entire car worth?
That setup was never installed on production Z/28 cars. That is an over the counter service part used for SCCA road racing. They are rare and valuable to someone that wants to emulate a period correct SCCA Trans-Am race car or to someone that wants to add some bling-bling to their 302 powered Z/28. Strictly jewelry for an early Camaro. Nobody else would want it. The stock 4 bbl setup works better for street use. The early Z/28's are getting rather popular these days. Prices for the rare parts are out of control.
Glad I don't need any parts for mine. I finished it just in time.
