I just picked up another 68 convertible. It's a white/blue 327/350, 4-speed (original drivetrain), with power brakes and both soft and hard tops (no other options), and has about 55k original miles. It was bought back in the mid-80s as a restoration project but the owner passed away before he got a chance to do anything with it, so his widow stored it inside, under a cover all these years.
It hasn't been registered since 82 and needs the usual brakes, mufflers, and a good tune up, but it runs and the the headlight and wiper doors all work, as do the fiber optics. The body is original as well as the paint. It has its share of webcracks and wear, but I honestly thing a good polish and wax will make it look pretty good. The interior is really nice.
Now I need to sell the 68 convertible project I was working on. Four corvettes is too many right now...
Re: Looks like I adopted another stray.... (markdtn)
It was a little more. I won't disclose more than that, but when I looked at the little it was gonna take to get it running well and my butt in the driver's seat I bent. After spending countless hours (and 100s if not 1000s of bucks) un-bubba-ing several C3s, having one that maybe isn't perfect but works is money in the bank.
