Mine were hogged out, but the higher hp engines came this way (minus the pocket porting). My point was that the old heads can (or can be made) to perform as most modern heads
BTW, the bigger valves could account for maybe 10 hp. The pocket port work is were the real benefit is.

Thanks I have had a set and like them, The thing I was shooting for was a little more power for cheap.... I can get some for 200-300 fresh, then take them to a machine shop and make sure there are no cracks and see if they check out ok.
