In the summer my 69 427 pings when the engine is warm even though I have taken 12 degrees out of the mechanical advance and do not use the vacuum advance. Last January at the NCRS meet I bought a quart of Jack Podell's real lead additive. It says there is 14.4 grams of lead per quart and they say 1/2 of that will treat 20 gallons. The chart says that .37 grams per gallon will make 93 octane into 100.5. I tried it today with a full tank of my usual Amoco 93. Now I cannot make it ping even at low speed in 4th gear. This worked great . Aslo the odor is gone from the exhaust and it feels like I added 30 H.P. I was leary of the stuff at first because most of the additives are snake oil but this product really worked.
I picked up a business card of the guy who sells the stuff while at at Bloomington Gold but it does not list a website. Here is all of his contact information on the card:

Glad to hear it, Larry. I bought two cases of the stuff from a forum member about 3 months back, but I haven't had a chance to drive the car in hot weather with it in the tank yet (still burning off the 25 gallons of blue avgas I bought to mix in to get rid of my pinging).
I may try it with the vacuum advance but i seem to remember having a surge at low speed cruise making it very annoying to drive 40 45 in 4th gear. I tried a crane adjustable vac unit but ultimatly dis-connecting the vacuum advance solved it.
