Default Big Block in a '74

Hey all, I'm new to the group and I haven't yet looked over all the posts, so if this has already been brought up before, I apologize. Anyways, years ago my father had a 74 Vette and sold it to my uncle. My uncle sold it to his neighbor and I'm looking at trying to buy it back before long. My question is this, I know it has the 350 in it, but how "easy" or should I say, how possible would it be to put a big block in it? Something along the lines of a 454 or maybe even a 502? I figure if I'm going to try to restore it, I might as well go for more power

There are alot of other discussion on this subject. It is a basic bolt in operation as the 74 was designed for, and certified for, a big block. Would need the correct accessory brackets, intake and exhaust manifolds, radiator and shroud, big block springs and sway bars.

cheaper to buy a 74 with a 454, a real pain if you try to install a BB from scartch

If you buy a crate motor, you will go broke buying all the bits and pieces for accessories/etc. Buy a car with the BB in already

I figured it would be somewhat "irritating" to put in a BB in place of the SB. Not being totally fimiliar with all the parts and accessories needed, how much are we talking about here, aside from the cost of the crate engine?
