I'm new to the site and have a basic question. I am considering purchase of a 1982 C3 with the Crossfire carb system. I’ve heard this system is difficult to modify to increase performance? Is it possible to remove the intake and carbs and replace with a 4 BBl intake and carb? Will it be compatible with the computer system? I'd also like to add headers. Anything else I should consider before purchase?
Reason being, I'm an old school hot rodder and the std 4 barrel will be easier for me to work with, especially if I add nitrous at some point. I am willing however to give the Cross Fire a chance. Thanks for the link to the crossfire site, very good info!
Thanks for the advise, please wish me luck on negotiating a deal and becoming one of you, the few and proud!
if you go to a carb you also have to change distributer and you will need a lock up for the transmission .if you are going to drive on the street ,leave the throttle bodys on .the crossfire is good for 300to400 hp . go to the crossfire web site.
